I decided, then & there, I wasn’t going to settle for an unlived life any longer
In November, 2018, my town burned down. Loss offered me a gift I decided to take.
It was at that moment, after years of pretending to be anyone other than who I truly was, of doing work that only partly satisfied me, and keeping a lid on my creativity, that I decided I couldn’t wait any longer to have the kind of life I’d always imagined. Full stop.
My life didn’t transform overnight. In fact, the next 2 to 3 years brought more challenges, more grief, more transitions. It’s been a journey, that’s for sure, but one that’s been worth it. And one I’m still on.
I don’t have all the answers, but what I’ve come to know for sure is that when you trust your heart and your desires, the life you create can be better than your dreams.
creating a life you really love doesn’t require a tragedy. it does, though, require saying ‘yes’.
